What is your title? What do you do at Rung?
Farm Coordinator – I make sure our staff and member have access to fresh organic produce!

What do you like most about working at Rung?
Rung treats it’s staff and members like full human beings – not just employees or workers. The whole person is considered every step of the way, and it makes a tangible impact in the ways people show up. Not only do I adore getting to care for our community by feeding people, but I also love being rooted in the context of wellness. Even though my team consists of folks with very different backgrounds and skillsets, I feel like I belong.

What has been your favorite project to work on?
Jai of The Collective STL (another one of Rung’s Wellness Collaborators) and I started a collaboration last year called Ground and Grow where we explore the senses as they relate to nature using plant material from the sensory garden. I was unfortunately sick when the event occurred last year, but I really believe in the potential impact this event can have on participants. I’m eager to keep this collaborative project alive!

Who are your personal sheroes, women you look up to?
Leah Penniman, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Katharine Wilkinson, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Leah Thomas, and Karen Washington are all sheroes to me. Without knowing it, they have been teachers and guides to me throughout my youth and adulthood, showing me how interconnected we all are, and how nature can teach us about abundance and reciprocity in a society rooted in scarcity. They are educators, advocates, artists, climate activists, growers, mothers, sisters, daughters, amongst a plethora of other things. Nature is intersectional, and so are we.

How have you grown since working at Rung?
I’ve learned A LOT about letting go – my background as a physicist and biologist rooted me in “right” and “wrong” – farming is anything but! Many things did not go as planned this past year, and it’s taken me awhile to learn that there isn’t a whole lot of “right” and “wrong” in what we do on the farm. Making decisions and sticking with them regardless of all the other options has been a skill I’ve had plenty of opportunity to develop this past year.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to play soccer, rock climb, hike, camp, backpack, mountaineer, sit in Tower Grove Park, play guitar, read scifi and fantasy, play video games, cook, bake bread and cookies. I find rest difficult to access sometimes…

What book, podcast, artist, or playlist are you currently into?
My top artist of 2025 was Berlioz – this house-jazz group has accompanied me a lot as of late.
