Name: Christy Sieve

What is your title? What do you do at Rung?

I am the Administrative Coordinator of the Program Department. As the Administrative Coordinator for the Program Department, I provide behind-the-scenes support that helps to keep our department running efficiently. My responsibilities include budget management, coordinating calendars for programming, creating monthly member newsletters, and managing a variety of other administrative tasks.

What do you like most about working at Rung?

What I enjoy most about working here is our mission and the positive impact we have on the community. I appreciate the supportive and collaborative environment created by my coworkers. Rung genuinely cares about their employees by promoting work-life balance and providing the support and flexibility needed to be successful both professionally and personally.

What has been your favorite project to work on?

Surprisingly, my favorite project has become managing our department budget. If you had asked me a year ago, this definitely would not have been my answer! At first, it was a challenge to learn the process while our budget was being developed, but over time I have really come to enjoy it. There’s something incredibly satisfying about tracking down every discrepancy to the penny. It’s become a project that challenges my attention to detail and gives me a great sense of achievement.

Who are your personal sheroes, women you look up to?

My mom is simply the best-she is supportive, funny, carefree, incredibly hardworking, and always dedicated to the people she loves. Of course, my sisters and my girlfriends make the list! They are my biggest cheerleaders and the people I know I can count on for support, encouragement, and laughter no matter what life throws my way. Last, but certainly not least, is my daughter, Ryan. She inspires me every single day. She is beautiful, smart, confident, fearless, independent, and so dedicated to her future. I often find myself wishing I had even half of her confidence and spark when I was her age!

How have you grown since working at Rung?

I’ve become more adaptable by embracing change. Learning to navigate new challenges with flexibility and a positive mindset isn’t always easy. Making a conscious effort to approach change with openness rather than resistance is growth in itself! I am still working on this, but I’ve become better equipped to handle whatever comes my way.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my kids, family, and friends. I also watch Jeopardy every day–it’s one of my favorite routines. A fun fact about me is that I love playing darts, and I enjoy playing bingo (yes, I know I am showing my age!). I also love to travel. While I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like, I enjoy daydreaming about and researching trips I hope to take in the future. Over the years, I’ve become much more content with life’s simple pleasures. I used to be more adventurous, but these days I find the most joy in spending time with family, relaxing, and appreciating the little things.

What book, podcast, artist, or playlist are you currently into?

Music is a huge part of my life. I truly believe there’s a soundtrack for every mood, every day, and every season of life. My playlists are all over the place—in the best way! You’ll find everything from Broadway musicals and Motown/soul classics from the ’60s to 70’s disco, today’s hits, sappy love songs, rap, and just about everything in between!
