Name: Ashley Gold
What is your title? What do you do at Rung?
I serve as the Executive Assistant, providing strategic administrative support to the President & CEO, Founder & Board Chair, specific staff of the executive leadership team, and the Board of Directors, while managing organizational operations, special projects, governance, and high-impacts events that advance our mission. Additionally, my responsibilities is a compilation of project management, meeting and scheduling management, event planning and execution, process improvement, cross-department coordination, executive communication, and executive and board support.
What do you like most about working at Rung?
From a personal perspective, I love that the work I do is behind the scenes but still adds value and has a direct impact on helping women change their lives. Whether I’m supporting leadership, coordinating the board, scheduling introduction calls between Leslie and potential partners, all of these small actions support the work we do that has proven to be transformative. I’m so proud of that, no matter how big or small the impact is. It brings me joy everyday I have the opportunity to be on the campus. Selfishly, I also love the moments of self care Rung provides to staff. This is by far is one of my favorite things about working here.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
Coordinating the annual board retreat is my favorite project. I love the process of event planning and small details. It also makes me tap into that southern hospitality since out of town board members join. I love hosting, but I love the fine details and seeing the results come to life.
Who are your personal sheroes, women you look up to?
There isn’t one specific person I look up, however there are a few ladies in my life who I look up to that have contributed to the women I am today. My mom for her resilience and ambition, my grandmother for her strength and daring personality – unafraid to be vocal about the things she believed in. My paternal aunt who is also fearless, sophisticated, and a person who also loves hosting gatherings. My spiritual influences continue to grow.
How have you grown since working at Rung?
I’ve grown in so many areas of my professional career. I just feel confident in being the expert as an administrative professional. The tools, tips, and tricks I’ve applied to my role from other experts in this industry helps build my confidence. I’m encouraged to use my voice and trust my decisions whereas when I started, I did not possess these qualities. I have the of support of my colleagues when I have a rough day or random love verbalizations of “I see you” which gives me that reassurance that I am doing my best and my best appreciated. That sits well with my soul. The growth doesn’t stop though because I am growing, learning, and doing things better everyday from everyone around me.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I live for the days where I can do absolutely nothing in my free time. I love cleaning my home and laying on my couch catching up on vlogs or a podcast show on YouTube. You can catch me at a community event where I can share experiences with my family.
What book, podcast, artist, or playlist are you currently into?
I’ve purchased my friends book titled “Get Up & Begin Again,” but have not started reading yet.I do know it’s about finding love for a second time, but being led by faith. I’m loving “Into the Next” podcast with Maya Galore who is a STL native who lives in Atlanta now. Her show helps women live better lives by finding your true purpose and transforming the life you have to the life you desire to live. I’m currently jamming to Jazz Bounce Sessions that brings me closer to home through the style of authentic New Orleans bounce music.
