What is your title? What do you do at Rung?
I am the Wellness Manager at Rung. My role is centered around creating opportunities for our members to care for themselves in ways that support their overall wellness. I oversee and coordinate programming across several areas, including counseling, fitness, yoga, health services, meals and cooking demonstrations, Child Watch, and our farm and garden programming. I also work closely with our community partners to make sure members have access to resources that support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. One of my favorite parts of my role is getting to think creatively about what wellness can look like and finding new ways to make it accessible, practical, and enjoyable for our members and staff.
What do you like most about working at Rung?
The humans! There are so many fun and diverse personalities at Rung, and somehow we all come together and genuinely enjoy one another. I love the people I get to work alongside every day.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
Who are your personal sheroes, women you look up to?
My biggest shero is my mother, who also works at Rung! She is strong, no-nonsense, hardworking, and incredibly resilient, but she is also one of the warmest and most fun people I know. She has always shown me that strength and softness can exist at the same time.
I am proud to call her my mother and grateful that I grew up in her light. So much of how I show up today, both personally and professionally, comes from watching her navigate life with strength, humor, confidence, and love. Getting to now work alongside her at Rung makes that even more special.
How have you grown since working at Rung?
I have grown tremendously, both personally and professionally, during my time at Rung. I started here as a yoga instructor, and over time I’ve had the opportunity to grow into my role as Wellness Manager. That journey has challenged me to expand far beyond what I originally thought my work in wellness would look like.
I’ve grown as a leader, coach, collaborator, and program manager. I’ve learned how to build and manage partnerships, advocate for ideas, develop programming, and support people whose needs and goals may look completely different from my own. Most importantly, I’ve learned that wellness is so much bigger than fitness. It’s about having the resources, support, knowledge, and space to take care of yourself in a way that works for your life. I’m proud of how much my understanding of wellness, and my ability to lead in this space, has grown since I first walked through Rung’s doors as a yoga instructor.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Yoga, going to the gym, solo dates, and NAPPING! I genuinely love a good nap, and it is absolutely one of my favorite things to do. I love being active, but I equally appreciate slowing down, resting, and spending time with myself. Balance!
What book, podcast, artist, or playlist are you currently into?
I am officially back on my reading kick! My goal is to read 24 books a year, and I’m making my way through the list. I recently reread Verity, finished Score by Kennedy Ryan, and I’m currently reading The Truth About the Accident by Nicole Trope. I live for a good psychological thriller.
