Regina Lowe
Sr. Director of Program. I get the opportunity to work with the coaching arm of our program! This includes Career Development Coaching, Career Attainment Coaching, and Financial Education & Coaching. Through my role, I help ensure our coaching program helps Members identify their vision and goals for a new career, create attainable steps towards finding a new job or promotion to get there, and engage in a lot of self-discovery and growth along the way. I also work closely with Katie Gallen and Colleen to create a fully integrated program combining both coaching and training.
There’s so much… first, I’ve always found that Rung’s values align a lot with my own personal values. There’s a great opportunity to innovate, learn new things, and safety to try what might not work. Part of my personal mission statement is to help people live better lives – and that is exactly what we do at Rung! Then there are my co-workers. I get so much joy working with everyone here appreciate our individuality and self-expression. Finally, I love to humbly brag about working at Rung and seeing the shocked expressions on people’s faces when they hear about our work and environment. It’s the best!
I love anything that allows me to be both creative and analytical. So, I’ve loved working on our program redesign and alignment projects!
This is a good question. Personally, my mind goes first to my mother and grandmother. I cannot imagine what life was like for them during the time they were living. My Mom shared stories of being involved in sit-in’s at Woolworth’s (a drug store), and of people being surprised at how smart she was as a woman of color! They had to face a lot of adversity and hard times, but they raised a loving family and provided homes of safety and peace. I also look up to women who are free to pursue their own path, and overcome societal norm, to do the thing they want to do!
Wow! Working at Rung has helped me to grow in confidence, faith, and grace. Seeing how this organization affects people – staff and Members – has increased my perspective of how important it is for these three attributes to be a firm part of my foundation.
I’m heavily involved in church-related activities, which also includes a lot of community-based work. In addition, I love reading (mysteries, psychological suspense), walking (especially in random places I’ve never been). When I really have the luxury of time, I like randomly driving to places I’ve never been (I guess there’s a theme)!
