AmeriCorps Opportunity: Rung Volunteer Engagement VISTA
Goal of the Project:
The Volunteer Engagement VISTA member will build the capacity of Rung for Women’s volunteer program by creating new volunteer positions and programs for volunteers to participate in benefiting Rung members from St. Louis metro area. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, Rung for Women will build and strengthen systems to retain volunteers due to the increased sense of involvement and engagement.
Benefits of the Position: This is a year-long service opportunity that includes a: $15,000 living stipend, medical insurance, and End of Service Award provided through AmeriCorps.
Objective of the Assignment (02/2022 – 02/2023)
Develop procedural guides, project plans, and training curriculum for community and corporate group volunteer programs.
Member Activities:
- Develop processes and procedures for group volunteer programs, including contingency plans.
- Build an interactive form to facilitate community and corporate group requests for volunteer days of service and opportunities.
- Research and document corporate volunteer programs with paid volunteer days for recruitment purposes
- Submit all materials developed to supervisor for approval
Objective of the Assignment (02/2022 – 02/2023)
Build new volunteer engagement programs, including a tutoring curriculum, volunteer book club, community resource partnerships, and youth professionals’ board.
Member Activities:
- Research and document best practices through examining similar programs at other nonprofits.
- Create logistical design and structure of new programs including tutoring curriculum, volunteer book club, community resource partnerships, and development of a young professionals’ board.
- Develop an evaluation plan for new volunteer programs.
- Submit all materials developed to supervisor for approval
