Alexa is currently our Interim Director of Member Engagement but has worn a few hats since joining the Rung staff. Known for her infectious way of saying Invite Joy and other word-isms, she has been dedicated to serving our members and, most recently, has been charged with member admissions duties.

What do you like most about working at Rung?
I feel like I work with some of the best people in the game.
What challenges do you face most in your current role?
It is a lot of collaboration and timelines. So staying in touch with everyone and making sure we are moving along can be a delicate balancing act.
What project have you had the most fun working on?
I would say the 2nd Recognition ceremony we had was so memorable because the members who were apart of it. Their speeches and seeing how far they had come since they were accepted in the program, it was such a transformation and very inspiring.
Who are some of your professional sheros?
One of my previous supervisors when I started out working. Her name was Becky and I was young and eager to learn, she helped me grow so much. As I have looked back, she encouraged me and gave me very specific constructive feedback on ways to improve myself. It was little questions she would ask me on my reports to make them more concise, and recognizing my empathic heart and showed me how it was a good thing and not a weakness. I would also say Rosalind Brewer and Sandra Day O’Conner.
How do you feel that your work at Rung has impacted the organization?
I feel like my work helps all women believe in themselves.
What is your top professional advice you’d like to share?
To speak up more.
