You may have noticed a few more colors in our logo this month.
For June, we are proudly shining a light on Pride, a time to reflect, celebrate and stand with our LGBTQIA+ family in working toward a more accepting, and loving world for us all. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said: “No one is free until we are all free.” We honor the advocates and leaders whose actions have led to a more just society, and during uneasy and uncertain times, we acknowledge that there is still a long way to go.
At Rung for Women, one of our core values is to strive for equity. We know that a more inclusive and love-filled community begins with us, and our team lives this value daily by inviting difficult conversations, by acknowledging systemic inequities, and by believing in the potential to build a better tomorrow.
At Rung for Women, one of our core values is to strive for equity.
When we open our doors at 2717 Sidney Street later this summer, Rung will be a place for women – and we mean ALL women, including trans women and gender non-conforming individuals – to work toward a better life for themselves and their families. Rung and the agencies that will co-locate in our space are committed to creating a welcoming and safe community. And, we hope you will be a part of it.
Over the course of the month, we will add to this list of local events and opportunities to learn together and celebrate Pride. Please email us at info@rungforwomen.org if you have a suggestion to add.
In solidarity,
Leslie
